Sheri Combs Joins Gastroenterology Associates of Catawba Valley

Sheri Combs, board-certified Family Nurse Practitioner, joined Gastroenterology Associates of Catawba Valley in October 2025. She brings more than 20 years of extensive nursing experience to the practice. 


Most recently, Sheri was a surgical support hospitalist and family nurse practitioner with Catawba Valley Medical Center providing patient-centered care to pediatric, adult, and geriatric surgical patients. 


Sheri earned her undergraduate degree in nursing from University of North Carolina at Greensboro. She received her Master of Science in Nursing degree with a Family Nurse Practitioner concentration from Winston-Salem State University.


Sheri is Board-Certified by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) and licensed to practice in the state of North Carolina.


She is a member of the North Carolina Nurses Association (NCNA) and the American Association of Nurse Practitioners (AANP).


She is certified in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS).

Sheri is on the medical staff of Catawba Valley Medical Center in Hickory.

Previous screening guidelines started at age 50. Studies show rates of colorectal cancer among people younger than 50 are on the rise, according to the American Cancer Society.
